Matt Hardy Surprise Caller
Dr. Tom: Matt Hardy, the new edition to RAW!
Josh: Oh no, Matt Hardy
Matt: That’s right, Matt Hardy its V-Ooonnneeeeuuuhhhhh.
Josh: V-oonnneeeuuhh, V-Ooonneeuhhh, haha
Dr. Tom: Outstanding Matt. How’s it feel to be back on RAW?
Matt: Its very very good. I’m ecstatic to be back on RAW and RAW has officially been injected with Mattitude.
DT: Hey very cool man. Hey, what was that, uh, little gimmick you were trying to pull on, uh Lita? I guess goin’ down on one knee?
Matt: Yah well, uh, yah, maybe it was a mock proposal possibly? Uh basically it was my ticket in. You know, I, I, had to get a ticket in. Eric Bischoff is the soul general manager of RAW right now, and apparently I needed to be on RAW so I had to go into Eric Bischoff and that was kinda my way in.
Josh: Well Matt, needless to say, as a Smackdown! Guy, you’re gonna be missed on our side of things. But, uh, how do you think Shannon Moore is gonna do on Smackdown!? Do you think he is, do you think-do you think its time for Shannon to stand alone…on Smackdown!?
Matt: Well, uh, yah, actually I just spoke about this in my commentary. Let me plug, uh, my website on WWE.com, which is actually wwemattitude.com, I actually speak about Shannon. Shannon being my favorite MF’er of all time, actually my only MF’er. But uh, Shannon over the last year, I really can’t tell you how much he’s improved. I mean across the border of his in-ring skills, his physical look, and like his, uh, entertainment personality skills. And I think, uh, Shannon is gonna do fine on his own. An-and I’m kinda glad in a lot of ways that I’m away from him now, because now he no longer has to be a follower. Shannon can go out and be his own man. I really believe in my heart. He’s got all the skills needed to uh, to succeed on his own. And I think if he’s given chance, he’ll uh, he’ll do it.
DT: Yeah, very cool. You know, Josh is an MF’er too. Yeah!
Matt: Huge MF’er but...
DT: Yes he is.
Matt: But not a Mattitude Follower.
DT: Right, he’s not a Mattitude Follower, just an MF’er.
Matt: There are two kinds of MF’ers.
DT: Yeah, hey very cool, uh, tell us a little bit about John Cena’s new album. We heard you did a little a track on there. Is that true?
Matt: Yeah, man, I actually got a uh, sneak preview copy of it. John gave me a top secret, confidential copy, and I, uh, heard it, and I love it man. It’s…it’s somethin’ if I heard out in a store, I’d purchase it on my own. I’m—I’m very into it, me and John, I don’t know, we’re thinking along the same wave length. But uh, I think it’s really good. I’ve got a verse in one of the tracks. Actually myself and, uh, John, and his cousin, Trademark. And this whole album is hot man. It’s really good. I would definitely recommend anyone go out and buy it. I think you’d really enjoy it. There are songs are there too that I think would make the radios. It’s gonna be a very good deal. His talent, his cousin’s talented. I’m talented myself too.
Josh: Of course, of course you are Matt. Just log onto WWE.com and we’ll keep everyone posted on the release date of John Cena’s new album. But Matt, we got some phone calls for you, if you’re ready.
Matt: I would love to take a phone call.
DT: Alright, well, from Philly, this is Tom, Tom you’re on the phone with Matt Hardy, v-ooonnneeeuuuhhh!
Tom: Yo, what up Matt?
Matt: Hey man, what’s up?
Tom: What’s up Josh?
Josh: Hey.
Tom: Uh, hey-
Josh: Dr. Tom is here too Tom.
Tom: What’s that?
Josh: Dr. Tom is here too.
Tom: Yeah, what up Dr. Tom? I was just gonna say that Josh.
Josh: Oh okay.
Dr. Tom: Ha!
Matt: (laughs)
Tom: Uh Matt, I know you and Lita have been friends for a long time.
Matt: Yeah, well we’ve been
LITTLE more than friends.
Josh: YEEAAHH!
Tom: And I was wondering if you, uh, if you were ever gonna marry her for real?
Matt: Oh yeah, I’m definitely sure marriage for real will happen. Um, as you know, I’ll say this too right now while we’re on the record. I’d like to thank Vince McMahon and company for, uh, helping me out and helping me make the move to RAW because obviously it was done for personal reasons, so that Amy and I could see each other a little more. But, uh, you know as far as storyline goes, I don’t think we’ll be getting married, and I don’t think we’ll be together. But uh in—in a real life scenario, I’m sure down the road we would.
DT: Outstanding, I think its really good—really good that you had the opportunity to move to RAW, after being on Smackdown! all this time, making an impact. Now, uh, I’m sure everybody is looking forward, as you are, to making the same impact on RAW. But what I’ve gotta ask ya too right now is number 1: If Josh doesn’t quit banging my chair I think you’re gonna have one-
Josh: Oh, I’m sorry man.
DT: --of us less. Uh, what I wanna know Matt, is, uh, how is Jeff doin’?
Matt: Um, Jeff is doin’ good man. Actually, I just sent a picture of myself, Jeff, and my dad its on wwemattitude.com that’s a current picture. We had him and his girlfriend over the other day and Amy cooked everyone dinner, and my dad came over. He’s doin’ okay man, and he’s, uh, hangin’ low. You know, I’ve spoken with him about the wrestling gig, and I definitely know there’s a part of him that wants to come back and do it. He was originally going to have a concert tomorrow, which got pushed back because it was, the venue was double booked or somethin’. Uh, I guess he wants to get his aspirations to be a good musician and what not out of his system and see if that’s what will work or if it will not. And, uh, you know, I’m sure regardless it does work or doesn’t work, I’m sure he’ll end back up in the WWE.
Josh: Matt, did you guys have turducken for dinner? (Note: Josh is nuts, turducken is: turkey, duck, and chicken)
Matt: Did we have what for dinner?
Josh: Turducken?
Matt: Uh, no we didn’t.
DT: You know Josh is a moron Matt, and I apologize.
Matt: I know—I know that’s Josh’s favorite meal, but no, uh, we don’t eat that here in Cameron, we do it a little different here in the dirty south.
Josh: You know what turducken is right?
Matt: Its you’re favorite man.
Josh: Right, right, did you use banana juice?
Matt: No, man, no.
Josh: Alright I gotcha.
Matt: I moved to RAW and got away from all that silly comedy, and I, uh-
DT: Oh, very good.
Matt: (laughs)
DT: Yeah, very nice.
Matt: I’m just ribbin’ ya man. I’m still (yells)v-oonneeuuhhh!
Josh/DT: (laughs)
DT: Yeah, I wish you were here.
Matt: Ha, yeah.
DT: Yeah.
Josh: Well, if you have any questions for Matt Hardy, call us up at 1-888-LIVE-WWE. Matt what did you think of Lita’s book?

Matt: Uh, I thought is was real, it was, uh, uh, done real well, and I thought it was a great read. And actually, obviously, I probably know more about her than anybody else does in the WWE, and there were still details in the book that I, uh, I was like, uh, I was actually learning about. And it was really an inspirational story and I, uh, I mean, when you see where she started, point A to point B its really, as far as she attained right now, and as much as she had to go through to get there, its amazing. I mean in a lot of ways, it relates to the journey I made, from point A to now, but she just didn’t it in such a different way. And it’s amazing cause she was so independent and had no one else to support her accept herself.
DT: Yeah, if you take a look at various guys you’ve been involved with here in WWE throughout your career, the Dudleyz, uh, Edge & Christian, and, uh, just take a look at the evolution that all you guys seemed to have took, and you all wound up with, uh, successful careers so far, and yet you seem to have a lot more ahead of you. Obviously, this changing may come at RAW now, and give you that opportunity to, uh, to mix with different competitors, different people-
Matt: Yeah.
DT: You’re lookin’ forward to that.
Matt: Oh, I’m so excited about being at RAW. For one, its live TV, and there’s no atmosphere like a live TV atmosphere. You know, theres no faking and stuff like that, you know everything is real, whether its good, bad, right, wrong, and also when you’re out there on a live TV, in front of a live crowd, they know that anything could happen. You know there are no spoilers to be read, we don’t start taping Tuesday and the show on Thursday whatever happens, is live, l-i-v-e. There’s nothin’ like that. And there are so many great guys on RAW that I haven’t had the chance to work with that I would love too. There’s Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, HHH, Booker, RVD, uh, you know there’s such a long list; Jericho, Christian. So many different guys and you know its also very entertainment based, a little more entertainment based than it is right now. Obviously you know Matt Hardy, Version 1, the Sensei of Mattitude is a very entertaining character.
DT: Uh-
Josh: Matt what was—I’m sorry Dr. Tom, go ahead.
DT: No go on.
Josh: Matt what I was gonna ask you was what was it like to have a few weeks off during your transition phase from Smackdown! to RAW? It seems like the only time superstars have off are when they’re injured.
Matt: Right, uh, man it was great. It was, uh, it was the first, March would make 6 years that I’ve signed with the WWE, and, uh, it was the first time in 5 years since I’ve been with the WWE that I’ve been off the road for times for a few weeks without being hurt. And, uh, to actually come home and live a normal life, in my new big, beautiful house, it was the first time I got a chance to actually clean up, and I bought furniture, and I did stuff to my yard, and kinda got to live like a normal person. It was cool man. It’s one of those kind of things, it dangerous to stay here too long because I just might like that. You know after you get away for 2 or 3 weeks, you really, once wrestling is in your blood its hard, Josh you’ve been around long enough, Dr. Tom you’ve been around long enough, once you get sports entertainment in your blood, get used to the wrestling business too, you can’t like just, you can’t go away from it. It like becomes part of ya. You know without being around, you like crave for it, have a need for it. I was startin’ to feel that, but at the same time it was good because it gave my body a break. I started loosening up, I wasn’t as like it was from day to day, and I really appreciated it, it was good for me.
DT: Very cool, uh, there’s there something else we need to ask ya. We, uh, just wanna touch on, eh, a little bit if we can—IT’S MY KNEE YOU’RE TOUCHING! (to Josh)
Josh: (laughs)
DT: Yeeaahh, you’re a funny guy Josh.
Josh: (laughs)
Matt: What’s goin’ on over there?
DT: You know, I’m not sure what’s goin’ on with this kid over here anymore man. After the shows over, I promise he won’t be around much longer.
Matt: I dunno man, that kid, he’s changed man.
DT: He has changed. You know that Tough Enough gimmick.
Matt: He used to be a good kid.
DT: Yeah, not anymore. (Matt laughing in background) Uh we understand that you were very close to Crash Holly as well and you attended his funeral. Any thoughts that you might wanna convey to the people out there listenin’ now?
Matt: Yeah, yeah, there definitely are some thoughts. For one, I’d like to say, God Bless Mike, God Bless Crash Holly as he was known to most of his fans. But it’s one of those things that hit me hard than any other real death in wrestling just because, you know, we worked 3 or 4 months, side-by-side when you know, him and Shannon were the MF’ers and everything and whatever you know. You know obviously the more TV you have with him, you interact more, and do more with them. There were times we ate together, laughed together, and just here up outta the blue a friend, somebody you’ve worked with, one of your peers, is dead, it was just shock. It really, it made me shocked, I was speechless and I’m never speechless. But you know, I’d just like to say you know in my prayers that God Bless him and his family, especially his daughter. He’s got a beautiful 7-year-old daughter, and you know the funeral was in North Carolina, fortunately, myself, Amy were able to make it out there and Hurricane, and actually one of your good friends, Dr. Tom, Champagne was out there. Um, but we went out to the funeral and stuff and saw it. It was—it was nice to be able to be there for his last moment and you know, see him. It was a very sad scenario.
Josh: Well yeah, no doubt about that Matt, but uh, we got more phone calls comin’ in for you right now. We got, uh, one here, Mitch calling from Iowa. Mitch you’re on the air with Matt Hardy.
Mitch: Hey Matt, I was wondering, if you could have one match at Wrestlemania 20, what would your dream match be, and what would the stipulation be?
Matt: Wow, um, mm, that’s a tough question to ask. Uh, tough question to answer I should say. Um, my dream match, I dunno. Let me take a second, I mean, uh, considering I’m on RAW now, battling with someone from the RAW roster, yeah, I don’t know. I—I guess to make to it a dream match, I’d want it to be as big a match as it could possible be, you know, I don’t know, me versus HHH, me versus Ric Flair, me versus Shawn Michaels, uh, you know, as far as this go big, hard match, especially for me, the other hand, maybe, I don’t know. Maybe me and Christian and Rob Van Dam in a ladder match, ya know maybe me and Jericho in a ladder match. I don’t know, I mean there’s so many different ways to go, something with a good story behind it anyway, obviously.
DT: Thanks for the question. Matt we’re all lookin’ forward to Wrestlemania 20, Madison Square Garden, twentieth anniversary of Wrestlmania.
Josh: You’re wearing the t-shirt for it today too, gettin’ geared up for it already like everyone else. Listen Matt, we appreciate you being the surprise call today here on Byte This! today, and everyone’s lookin’ forward to see what you’re gonna pull out on RAW, in the, uh, future.
Matt: You got it man. Make sure to tune in every Monday night, 9 PM on TNN. I will be there. Matt Hardy Version 1 will be appearing on RAW, and, uh, a new Matt Fact. You guys ready for it?
Josh: Yes.
DT: Yeah, lets here it.
Matt: Matt likes Monday’s better than Thursday’s.
DT: Outstanding.
Matt: There you have it. Sorry about that Josh. (laughs)
Josh: (Matt laughing more in background)That’s okay. Thanks a lot Matt, why don’t you just hang up the phone now, we’re just gonna talk about Smackdown! for the rest of the hour.
DT: Ha! Like we will.
Matt: Yeah, yeah, I had to get my red team shout outs while I could.
DT: Very nice.
Josh: Thanks a lot Matt.
Matt: Thank you guys.
Josh: Talk to you later.
DT: Alright, have a good one.
